Ireland West Airport Knock (Aerfort Iarthar Éireann Chnoc Mhuire) is situated south-west of Charlestown, County Mayo. The main gateway to the west of Ireland, Ireland's fourth international Airport after Dublin, Cork and Shannon, Ireland West experienced significant growth in the years following 2005, serving over 700,000 passengers each year as of 2014.
The Airport opened on 25 October 1985 with three Aer Lingus charter flights to Rome. Now an award-winning Airport that was named best regional Airport two years in a row in 2005 and 2006 by the Ireland Chamber of Commerce, it offers routes to 20 scheduled and charter destinations in Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
In November 2017, a €15 million investment into improving and upgrading the Airport in 2018 and 2019 was announced. This investment coincides with strong passenger growth. Plans include upgrading of car parks, passenger facilities, the terminal and resurfacing of the runway.
Ireland West wanted to integrate its parking, lounge, and fast tracking booking system for Airport customers. Despite almost a decade of increasing business up until October 2015 the Airport had no pre-booking facility. It was realised that a reservations service would benefit the Airport and its growing passenger numbers.
Rezcomm’s system successfully integrated the booking facilities for Ireland West. Since its installation, the Airport has seen a large increase in sales. With more growth looking likely for the future, the system can be adapted and expanded as necessary to evolve with the Airport and its changing passenger requirements, setting the foundations for a continually improving customer experience. In addition to this, successful targeted campaigns to outline regions have generated a significant increase in revenues.
