Allgäu Airport Memmingen (FMM) is located in Southern Germany, just 60 minutes by car west of Germany’s third largest city, Munich, and 80 minutes south of the automotive capital, Stuttgart. Its location in between the two larger airports is an advantage for commercial airlines which can profit from both cities.
Memmingem’s location also means that more than 11.3m people can reach the airport within 2 hours. There are convenient road and rail links and an express bus service offers direct connections to the rail stations including Munich and Zurich. The Airport is modern and has running costs considerably lower than those levied by its larger neighbours.
The Airport handled almost 1.2m passengers in 2017, with many flights heading to leisure destinations in Europe.
Parking at Memmingen Airport was run through a third-party aggregator. The Airport wanted to move away from this model and take control of its own parking. In doing so, it wanted to grow revenue from parking and introduce more sophisticated pricing structures to maximise income. It was important that the user experience reflected the Airport’s own branding and service offering, with the facility to engage passengers with ancillary products and services, building strong customer relations.
Memmingen Airport engaged Rezcomm’s e-commerce pre-book parking and CRM service in January 2018 and saw an increase in non-aeronautical revenue in just a few months.
The integration of Rezcomm Shop, a pre-book system branded identically to FMM’s own website in both feel and style, has optimised visitor interaction, while Rezcomm’s systems offer a departure from third-party parking operators, putting the parking inventory right back in the hands of the Airport.
But there is much more to the system than parking reservations. Its advanced CRM and reporting capabilities move the Airport’s customer relationships and revenue potential to a whole new level. As a result, sales have increased through a combination of carefully managed product selection and a smart booking journey.
Thanks to the CRM capabilities integral to Rezcomm Engage, Memmingen has seen record increases in ancillary sales and email marketing click-through rates.
