Although purpose built when it opened in 1937 Jersey Airport occupied 97 acres and only had a 980 yard runway. After years of expansion and development it has evolved into an impressive hub, considering the size of the island it inhabits, and is now an important transport link for 1.5m passengers
each year. In 2007 a series of improvements to the airport commenced, including a major redevelopment of the airside departures lounge, with a view to improving the experience of the airport's customers and leaving them with a better lasting impression of the island.
It was following the completion of the departures lounge in October 2009 that Rezcomm was approached to implement its Airport Travel and Holiday Booking service, enabling Jersey Airport's customers to easily book flights and holidays directly from the airport. Not only did this help to improve the customer experience prior to arriving at the airport but dramatically increased discoverability of the flights being offered. Following on from the success of this service we also provided destination maps which helped to further highlight available routes. This new system delivered multiple benefits to the airport, most importantly the ability to promote and sell indirect locations.
